Alberta Gas Fitting Regulations
All gas line and appliance work in Alberta must be performed by a holder of a valid Gas Fitting Certificate issued under the Safety Codes Act. Unlicensed gas work is illegal and voids home insurance.
As ticketed journeyperson plumbers, we hold gas fitting certification — one call covers both trades. We serve Innisfail, Red Deer County, and all of Central Alberta.
Alberta Context
In Alberta, connecting a gas appliance — even simply attaching the flexible connector from the new stove to the existing gas outlet — must be done by a holder of a valid Gas Fitting Certificate under the Safety Codes Act. This includes appliance dealers and big-box stores: their delivery teams cannot legally make the gas connection in Alberta. A gas permit is required whenever gas piping is altered or extended, but a simple appliance connection to an existing approved outlet typically does not require a separate permit.
